The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is the garden industry’s leading national trade association. They have 1,500 diverse members, including garden centres and nursery retailers, to landscapers and service providers.
The HTA asked Refinery to re-launch their National Garden Gift Cards with an exclusive new design and format, including moving from fixed value denominations to un-denominated cards, offering retailers a more flexible solution for customers.
We created a new brand and identity for the National Garden Gift Card. We redesigned their existing logo to create more impact, clarity, and more options for gift card imagery. Offering the consumer more choice, the new designs are now suitable for a wider variety of gifting occasions.
Each card design is uniquely coded, giving our client valuable data and insights, including most popular design, where the card was bought, average load value and redemptions.
To support the new cards, we also developed a new merchandising point of sale display, to create bespoke, flexible units. Allowing their retail members to display National Garden Gift Cards at the till, on a wall mounted or free-standing unit, so the cards can be cross-sold throughout the store.
“Refinery has been a fantastic partner. The new National Garden Gift Card and POS have already been set up in our member garden centres nationwide. They’re getting a great shopper response. We’re looking forward to seeing the new card designs increase the footfall and sales our gifting schemes generate for the UK garden industry.
Thanks, Refinery, for your creativity & flexibility on the project and for being a pleasure to work with!” Dave Denny, HTA Marketing and Insights Manager
We are delighted that the National Garden Gift Card won the ‘Best Garden Clothing and Gifts’ category at the 2017 GIMA (The Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association) Awards.
Commenting on the Award Martin Simmons, HTA Director of Operations said, “We are delighted that the National Garden Gift Card has been recognised in this way with this award in this hotly contested category. It’s one of many improvements we’re making to our gifting schemes ensure they work as hard as possible for the industry. With retailer support the gift card will thrive, driving customers to garden centre stores and adding value to the garden industry for retailers, growers and manufacturers alike.”
