Getting people to deal with their own mortality is a real creative challenge

but through a combination of research, insight and planning, we have managed to achieve it, and deliver a DOUBLE DIGIT GROWTH in funeral plan sales as a consequence.

Avalon Funeral Plans approached us to help them talk about a difficult subject: death.

Taking into account their 25-years of trusted goodwill, we repositioned the brand as more friendly than formal. We built a new brand identity, tone of voice and a visual language that felt compassionate, inclusive and even bright. Their new softer branding is used consistently across channels.

Our Persona Workshops identified four core typologies, each of which were relatively easy to reach through social media.

This channel also provided us with quite a few opportunities to introduce humour into the creative executions – and the ads worked too!
