There was plenty of football-themed fun in the Refinery office after they were challenged by Magnet Trade to launch a World Cup themed promotion.
Drawing inspiration from the bright colours and cultures of Brazil, the Magnet Trade “Summer of Football” campaign used on and offline channels to engage tradesmen during the biggest single-event sporting competition in the world.
An in-store sales promotion was launched that rewarded customers with scratch cards with one of four guaranteed prizes, with the top prize being £1,000 cash. Increasing loyalty and spend, the scratch card promotion was communicated through direct mail, email, POS, and social channels.
Online, the Scorecaster predictor game, developed in conjunction with Door4, encouraged customers and colleagues alike to forecast World Cup results in return for cash prizes. Generating lots of buzz on social media, plus competition in-store, the Scorecaster was designed to encourage engagement and participation throughout the tournament – even long after England were knocked out!
With high levels of engagement and increased awareness of Magnet Trade during the World Cup, both client and agency were delighted with the final result.
